Research
Scientific interests:
Ecology and environmental protection of the rural area; biological monitoring of aquatic ecosystems; hydromorphological river assessment; vegetation of aquatic, wetland and grassland ecosystems; phytosociology; biodiversity assessment and conservation.
Major projects:
Horizon 2020 BiodivRestore Cofund Action between BiodivERsA and the Water JPI – Bringing nature back – biodiversity friendly nature-based solutions in cities – acronym BiNatUr (2022-2025).
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) & European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) – Baltic Landscape in change – innovative approaches towards sustainable forested landscapes – acronym Baltic Landscape (2007-2013).
Polish-Norwegian Research Fund – Development and validation of methods for integrated assessment of ecological status of rivers and lakes to support river basin management plans – acronym deWELopment (2008-2011).
EU Project (Framework Programme 5) – Standardisation of River Classifications: Framework method for calibrating different biological survey results against ecological quality classifications to be developed for the Water Framework Directive – acronym STAR (2003-2005).
